Yarden

Bachelor Student

I am currently a 3rd-year dual B.Sc. Biomedical engineering and B.Sc. Biology student at Sagol School of Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University.

I chose Ben’s lab because it offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in tissue engineering, a field I’m very interested in and one of the main reasons I decided to study biomedical engineering. I’m especially motivated to learn how work is actually done in a tissue engineering lab, how experiments are designed, and how day to day decisions are made. I see this experience as an opportunity to develop practical skills, build confidence in the lab, and understand whether this direction is right for me moving forward.

I’m working on a project that examines how exosomes affect cellular biomechanics. I’m developing a small 3D cantilever platform with electrical stimulation to model some aspects of the breast tissue environment and to explore whether we can obtain useful quantitative measurements for future studies in post cancer breast repair.

After my time in the lab, I plan to continue learning and exploring different fields in biomedical engineering and neuroscience. I’m keeping an open mind about future studies or projects and want to build my path gradually as I gain experience.

In my free time, I enjoy staying active. I’m a former competitive water polo player, and I still like playing whenever I get the chance. I also very enjoy hiking and running.
