Tamar Kalai
Bachelor Student
Tamar is an undergraduate student at Tel Aviv University, pursuing a dual degree in Biology and Psychology with an emphasis on Neuroscience at the Sagol School of Neuroscience.
I chose the Maoz Lab because I am deeply fascinated by the intersection of biomedical engineering and neuroscience. The innovative projects advanced by the lab align perfectly with my academic passions, and I find their potential real-world impact incredibly inspiring. I wanted to be part of a team that is not only pushing the boundaries of scientific research but also driving meaningful change in the field.
My research focuses on the treatment of Glioblastoma (GBM) brain cancer cells through the application of electrical stimulation utilizing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) electrodes.
My ultimate career goal is to pursue graduate studies in neuroscience, focusing on the intersection of oncology and neurodegeneration. I want to leverage my background to advance the discovery of effective therapeutics for brain cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
