Luise Schlotterose

Visiting Scientist

I studied pharmacy at Kiel university, Germany and now I'm in the third year of my PhD.
I'm part of a research training group called "Materials for brain" (https://www.grk2154.uni-kiel.de/en) where we aim to improve local treatments for brain diseases.
My project focuses on approches to overcome foreign body responses towards brain implant materials.

I chose to visit Ben's lab because of it's super innovative and friendly atmosphere. Also, to learn more about biological engineering.

During my time in Ben's lab I will work on different models to investigate traumtic brain injury in vitro.

After my time in Ben's lab I will (hopefully) finish my PhD in 2023 and then probably move on to a PostDoc position or pharmaceutical industry.

For my free time I love to eat in new places with my friends and do all kinds of sports, like CrossFit.
