Illy Blustein

Bachelor Student

3rd-year dual B.Sc. Biomedical engineering and B.Sc. Biology student at Sagol School of Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University.

I chose Ben’s lab because on my first week in the university, Ben gave us a lecture about his lab and research and I knew immediately that I need to be part of this lab one day. The lab combined the two fields I’m interested in: Engineering and Neuroscience.

In addition, I relate to the lab goal of decreasing animal testing.

I’m working with Raneen on investigating GLP-1 receptor agonists as a therapeutic approach for Parkinson’s disease using iPSCs-derived models.

When I’ll finish my project and in general finish my bachelors I’m planing on continuing for a master In Biomedical Engineering or Neuroscience (still haven't decided) and keep learning and investigating those innovative and important fields.

On my free time I really enjoy baking. It’s a tastier type of lab :)
