David (Dave) Magreli

Master Student

I am currently a 4th-year student in the dual B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and Biology at Tel Aviv University, while also beginning the direct M.Sc. program as a 1st-year M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering.

I am conducting my master’s research under dual mentorship from the Maoz Lab and the Shein-Idelson Lab.
The Maoz Lab provides me with exposure to innovative biomedical methodologies and a deeper understanding of biological systems at the cellular level. This unique collaboration creates valuable opportunities, allowing me to approach vision science and medical applications from both technological and biological perspectives. This integration not only enriches my academic training but also equips me with a broader toolkit for developing practical solutions in the field of medical vision.

My master’s research focuses on the development of a verification device for three-dimensional eye-gaze vector estimation. The project combines sensor-based tracking with analysis of movement trajectories and counter-rotation eye dynamics. By enabling measurements in a naturalistic 3D space, this device aims to provide more accurate insights into behavioral, neurological, and physical aspects of eye movements, with a focus on lizard models.

After completing my master’s degree, I intend to pursue my lifelong dream of entering the medical vision industry. Building on my research experience in sensor technology, eye-movement analysis, and 3D gaze estimation, I aim to develop innovative and practical solutions that can improve the lives of visually impaired individuals.

I enjoy immersing myself in gaming and movies, which fuel my creativity and curiosity for interactive and visual storytelling. I am also passionate about sports, both as a way to stay active and as a space for clearing my mind,
