Restoring Tactile Sensation

We are interested in developing tools that allow
us to improve the life quality of patients who
lost their ability to sense, by creating self-
powered integrated electronics.

Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) is a new concept that provides a voltage
due to friction at the nano scale. In our lab, we use this concept, to create a
small self-power device, that generates a voltage that is proportional to the
applied pressure. The device is implanted at the damaged area, and is
connected to a working nerve with unique electrodes. Our lab is using this
concept to create different sensors to improve the life quality of those who lost
their ability to sense.
